Adware or advertising-supported software is any software package which automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertising material to a computer after the software is installed or while the application is being used.Some adware borders on being spyware because it can monitor browsing habits as a basis for ad selection. What is a Computer Virus?
A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer without permission or knowledge of the user. The term "virus" is also commonly used, albeit erroneously, to refer to many different types of malware (a portmanteau of the words malicious and software) and adware (a portmanteau of the words advertisement and software) programs. The original virus may modify the copies, or the copies may modify themselves, as occurs in a metamorphic virus.
